ILCA Department
Single-handed sailing on an Olympic path
The ILCA department of NOAS Sailing Club at Limeniskos Artemidas (East Attica, Greece): For older children, teenagers and adults who want demanding, single-handed sailing with a clear competitive perspective.

The sport
What is the ILCA?
The ILCA (formerly Laser) is the most widespread competitive single-handed dinghy in the world and an Olympic class. With three sail sizes — ILCA 4, 6 and 7 — it adapts to the age and build of every athlete, from the teenager leaving the Optimist to the adult racing sailor.
Training combines technical work on the water, fitness and tactics. The athlete learns to "read" the race course, make quick decisions and use their body to drive the boat to its limits.
The ILCA experience is purely individual: in the boat, the athlete is alone with the wind and their choices. This builds self-discipline, composure and a true competitive mindset.
At NOAS, the ILCA is the natural next step after the Optimist and the road to the race course — with Club athletes competing at national regattas and in the National Team.
