Friends forever: The sailing community

At sea you don't just compete — you build bonds that stand the test of time. The team becomes your second family.

When children join a sailing department, they don't just find fellow athletes. They find friends. Someone to help them get the boat into the water, someone to show them how to tie a knot, someone waiting for them at the mark when they feel anxious.

And these friends don't stay only within the department. They travel together to regattas, eat together after training, celebrate birthdays together, grow up together. Many of our current coaches started out as athletes at the club and stayed because this is where they found their family.

Sailing teaches children:

• To support one another — on the water, we're all one team • To respect their opponent — a friend first, a competitor second • To share in others' joy — one person's medal is everyone's victory • To never give up — even if you come last, you finished

At NOAS Sailing Club, our community is our greatest pride. Come and be part of it.
